About the deck
- Black-red menace aggro. Most creatures have menace, and the deck makes blocking them nearly impossible: Sonorous Howlbonder lets them be blocked only by three or more creatures, and Labyrinth Raptor makes the defending player sacrifice a creature whenever a menace creature gets blocked.
- Menace creatures: Stormfist Crusader, Pestilent Spirit, Dreadmalkin, Hunted Nightmare; Frillscare Mentor hands out menace counters.
- Burn with a twist: Pestilent Spirit gives my instants and sorceries deathtouch, so End the Festivities (1 damage to each of their creatures) becomes a one-sided board wipe.
- Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger keeps coming back from the graveyard with escape.
Gameplan
- Turn 2: Stormfist Crusader, Labyrinth Raptor or Dreadhorde Butcher.
- Turn 3: Sonorous Howlbonder; from now on blocking is a bad deal.
- Reach: Skewer the Critics (cheap with spectacle after an attack), End the Festivities, Angrath's Rampage.
- Steal: Tentative Connection costs one mana with a menace creature out and takes their best blocker for an attack.
- Late: Kroxa escapes from the graveyard again and again.
Weaknesses
- Board wipes and lifegain decks.
- Flyers: nothing in the deck blocks them well.
- Stormfist Crusader gives the opponent cards too.
